I’m Johnathan Creque, a Democratic Socialist running in the Democratic primary to represent the 1st Franklin District in the Massachusetts State House. I grew up in South Deerfield and I’m running to bring a new generation of leadership to Beacon Hill. As a Regional Director for Senator Elizabeth Warren, I’ve spent every day fighting for our constituents. I’ll utilize that experience to fight for the real structural change that our community deserves. We need representatives who are not going to maintain the status quo, but who will fight every day for the working class.

My Platform

Healthcare

As rural clinics face closure and the Commonwealth navigates massive budget shortfalls, the status quo is no longer sustainable. I am running to pass H.1405 to establish Medicare for All in Massachusetts. This reform is a fiscal necessity to protect our healthcare system from the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" (OBBBA) cuts. By eliminating insurance waste, we can save billions, stabilize our rural hospitals, and guarantee quality care for every resident.

Our state funding formula ignores the unique costs of rural education. I am fighting for a Rural School Floor—a mandatory minimum level of funding to ensure our schools remain stable community anchors, regardless of enrollment.

The Trump administration’s extremist agenda is a direct threat to our rights and our most vulnerable neighbors. I will fight to ensure Massachusetts remains a stronghold for working-class families, standing firm against any attempt to concentrate power in the hands of billionaires and corporations

Western Massachusetts is our agricultural backbone, yet local farms face increasing climate disasters while residents go hungry. I will fight to expand HIP benefits, provide climate grants for small farms, and expand renewable energy to lower costs and build a resilient local economy.

This is a grassroots campaign built from the ground up, for our community and by our community. Our movement is proudly led by young people who refuse to accept the "business as usual" status quo on Beacon Hill. We are 100% volunteer-powered and exclusively accept grassroots donations. As your State Representative, my only interest will be fighting for the constituents of the 1st Franklin District.
